The-Y CRM as an app on your phone
On Android and iPhone you can put The-Y CRM on your home screen like an app: its own icon, a splash screen, no browser bar. You don't need an app store for this — you install it directly from the browser.
⏱ approx. 1 min · Applies to Free & Paid, including self-hosted installations · As of version 1.1.24
Android (Chrome)
- Open crm.the-y.at in Chrome and sign in.
- Tap the menu ⋮ at the top right → “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.
- Confirm — the “The-Y CRM” icon is now on your home screen.
iPhone (Safari)
- Open crm.the-y.at in Safari and sign in.
- Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow) → “Add to Home Screen”.
- “Add” — done.
Self-hosted? Then simply open your own address — the app works there just the same.
What you get on your phone
- Bottom bar: Inbox, Contacts, Phone, Tasks and “More” — always within reach of your thumb, with counters for conversations waiting for a reply and for tasks due today or overdue.
- Inbox like a chat app: tap a conversation and it opens full screen; the reply field stays at the bottom above the keyboard. Templates, knowledge articles and attachments with a tap; assign, close, snooze and priority in the “⋯” menu. The back gesture takes you to the list. Messages are sent with the button (as in WhatsApp), not with the Enter key.
- Contacts: large Call, WhatsApp and Email buttons. Contacts, companies, deals and invoices appear as cards.
- Pipeline: stage columns you swipe through, and “Move to …” on every card.
- Softphone: “Phone” opens a large keypad; an ongoing call can be collapsed and keeps running when you switch pages.
- Quick launch (Android): long-press the icon → Inbox, Contacts or Tasks.
- Forms and dialogs open full screen, phone and email fields show the matching keyboard, and the calendar starts in list view.
Data & working offline
Only program files are stored on the phone (for a fast start), never customer data. Without internet, “No connection” appears — as soon as you are back online, you can carry on; your data stays on the server.
What's still missing
Push notifications for new messages will follow in a later version. Keypad tones (DTMF) during a call will also follow later.
Frequently asked questions
I can't find “Install app”.
On iPhone it works via Safari (Share → “Add to Home Screen”). On Android via Chrome; in some browsers the menu item is called “Add to Home screen”.
Can I make calls on my phone?
Yes, via the softphone in the CRM (allow the microphone). If no softphone is set up, “Call” opens the phone's own phone app. You set up telephony as described in Set up telephony.
How do I remove the app?
Like any other app: long-press the icon → remove. Your data in the CRM is not affected.
